Are you looking for an inspiring, creative adventure this summer? Plan a trip to come see all of us at Let’s Make Art in Hamilton, Missouri! After a long year of closure due to COVID-19, our little art shop is open, and we’re excited to see you! 

Our shop is filled with all of our favorite art supplies, tools, materials, LMA gear, and of course, our art kits!

While you’re planning your trip to Hamilton, you need to make plans to check out Missouri Star Quilt Co. You may remember that Al Doan, who helped found Let’s Make Art with Sarah Cray, also founded Missouri Star, along with his family members back in 2008. The Doan family has dedicated themselves to preserving historical downtown Hamilton, including the 500th JC Penney shop (fun fact: retail giant James Cash Penney was born and raised here!), ensuring the small town charm lives on for generations to come. Each of the Missouri Star shops are filled with fabric for making, as you may have guessed, quilts! You can learn all about Quilt Town, USA here.

If apparel/garment sewing is more your jam, be sure to pop into Nancy’s Notions! This little fabric shop is our new next-door neighbor, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Davis Street. Bonus! We know just who to go to when we need to borrow a cup of sugar, orrrrrrrr accidentally pop a button at the office! ;)  

We also have a new friend who has moved in across the street! One Big Happy Yarn Co. is home to all things knitting and crochet. They’re a fun bunch and always leave us in knots! (🥁 Just a little knit humor for you, which the author of this post is quite proud of!)

And why all this talk about knitting, sewing and quilting? Well, you see, Let’s Make Art, Missouri Star, Nancy’s Notions and One Big Happy Yarn Co. are all connected by creativity! We like to think of ourselves as sister companies, encouraging one another and each helping to inspire and empower those around us to create. Through needle and thread or brush and paint, we know that creating quilts, art, garments and scarves makes the world a better, more colorful and kinder place.

Our little hometown has never looked better, and we just had to show it off! Join us in a little walking tour below! Home base is 210 North Davis, also known as, Let’s Make Art HQ! We’ll start there and take a quick peek into our sister shops as well! Enjoy the tour!
