Let's Make Art Matter for Winter- December 2019
Our December Lettering Let's Make Art Matter recipient is Winter from Louisiana. Born with Down Syndrome, Winter had the normal struggles you would expect as a disabled child but still blossomed in the midst of it. As an adult, she struggles to find her place in the world and feels confused by the expectations society has for her.
Winter struggles with day-to-day tasks that we find simple, such as conversations, making decisions, and her every day routine being changed. If the world would allow it, Winter would be a social butterfly. She loves fashion, music, pop culture, and spends much of her time drawing or writing in her "diary".
Winter was nominated by her sister who would love to show her that people around the world have love for her too!
